Heritage of the pilgrims
A Monument from our Founders
Often we hear about our "founding fathers" as being those who gave us the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.  And these men deserve high praise and respect for their accomplishments.  But long before them another group laid the foundation upon which these men built—the pilgrims.

The pilgrims endured great hardship, traveling on the Mayflower to the New World.  The Mayflower Compact was one of the first self-government documents in America, where the signers agreed to submit to "just and equal laws" chosen by the majority for the general good of the colony. It stands as the first framework for European self-government written and enacted in the territory that would become the United States.  You can review a summary of their history and the short Mayflower Compact

But the rest of the story not so often taught is the quality of thought behind their actions and the legacy they left behind.  The Monumental Movie explains how instead of us creating a monument to them they left a monument for us in thought, deed, and stone.
